This five-part foundational series teaches you the basics so you can increase your comfort and confidence in the kitchen! Purchase the series as a bundle and save, or as individual classes. 

Dice, simmer, bake, go! In this five-part hands-on cooking series, we’ll sharpen your skills with essential culinary techniques to make your time in the kitchen more joyful. Through engaging demonstrations and simple recipes you cook and taste yourself, you’ll learn the reasoning behind the technique so you can start improvising with ease. Students may choose to purchase single classes, or attend all five at a bundle rate.

Dice, slice, chiffonade

Sharpen your confidence in the kitchen with this hands-on introduction to essential knife skills. In this foundational class, you’ll learn how to choose the right knife, practice safe cutting techniques, and master key cuts such as the dice, slice, mince, and chiffonade. Guided by our culinary educators, you’ll work through a series of recipes designed to build speed, precision, and comfort with kitchen knives–then taste the fruit of your labor! Perfect for beginners or anyone looking to refine their everyday cooking skills.

Meet Your Culinary Educator, Megan Amnott

Chef Megan Amnott received her degree in Culinary Science from Le Cordon Bleu’s College of Culinary Arts in 2016. Before joining The Kitchen House as Program Manager, Megan gained experience in a variety of respected kitchens, and worked as a private chef. Her background in fine dining and hospitality shapes her approach to culinary education, blending technical skill with an inviting and approachable teaching style. She’s passionate about helping people connect with food in a fun and meaningful way.

Ages 15+. Must have 1 adult participant per every 2 minor participants.


Release for Media Recording

The Kitchen House periodically uses photographs, video tape, or digital recordings of activities and events for positive promotional materials and as part of instructional programs in print material, social media and on our website.  I understand that The Kitchen House will not disclose names, identities, or personal information of any kind in association with the images.  I give permission to use attendees' photographs.

Release for Medical Liability

I understand I am attending this class at my own risk and release The Kitchen House from liability from damages arising from personal injury on or about the premises.

If student is under 18, I give permission for my child to attend this class and accept the inherent risks of cooking and gardening and release The Kitchen House from liability from damages arising from personal injury on or about the premises.


Class Cancellation & Refund Policy

Thank you for your purchase. Please note that all ticket sales for programs and events at The Kitchen House are final. Due to the planning and preparation required for each event, we do not offer refunds or exchanges. Please review your order carefully before completing your purchase. Thank you. 

In the event that a program is cancelled by The Kitchen House, all participants will be issued a full refund.

This is a fully vegetarian-friendly program that may include dairy, gluten, nuts, and soy. While we will do our best to accommodate food allergies or dietary restrictions noted in the checkout form, The Kitchen House is not a nut-free or soy-free facility, and cross-contamination is possible.
