Homeschool Garden Club

  • The Kitchen House 26 East King Street Orlando, FL, 32804 United States (map)

Homeschool Garden Club is a hands-on, season-long experience designed for young gardeners ready to dig deeper. Instead of one-time activities, students take real ownership of the garden, learning how to maintain beds, make seasonal decisions, and care for plants from seed to harvest.

This advanced outdoor program focuses on the rhythms of a working garden: soil care, planting strategies, maintenance, harvesting, and teamwork. Perfect for returning families or kids eager for more responsibility, Garden Club invites participants to build confidence, independence, and a true understanding of what it means to be a gardener.

Dig in and Grow

Sample weekly schedule:

Week 1: Stewardship kickoff: garden roles, tools, and seasonal planning
Week 2: Soil health + bed preparation
Week 3: Direct sowing + succession planting
Week 4: Watering systems + daily maintenance routines
Week 5: Pollinators + ecosystem care
Week 6: Harvest strategies + post-harvest handling
Week 7: Garden reflection, tasting, and stewardship celebration
Week 8: Harvest Celebration Culinary Experience hosted by The Kitchen House

Meet Your Educator, Caitlyn glatting

Caitlyn believes that a garden is more than just a place to grow food, it’s a classroom, a playground, and a powerful tool for teaching the next generation where their food comes from. She founded Grow Your Soul to help schools, families, and communities reconnect with food through hands-on gardening experiences. What started as a personal love for growing food became a mission to empower young people with the skills and confidence to cultivate their own. Caitlyn knows that when children get their hands in the soil, they’re not just learning how to grow vegetables—they’re learning patience, responsibility, and a lifelong appreciation for the environment.
