Eat more beans!
You should eat more beans! What’s not to love: they’re indispensable in the garden, and super affordable at the grocery store. They’re absolutely packed with fiber and protein. And they’re downright delicious, with endless versatility in the kitchen. Beans have been a staple in the human diet for thousands of years, and now that they’re regaining their culinary spotlight, we want to teach you to cook them with confidence!
Meet Your Culinary Educator, Megan Amnott
Chef Megan received her degree in Culinary Science from Le Cordon Bleu’s College of Culinary Arts in 2016. Before joining The Kitchen House as Program Manager, Megan gained experience in a variety of respected kitchens, and worked as a private chef. Her background in fine dining and hospitality shapes her approach to culinary education, blending technical skill with an inviting and approachable teaching style. She’s passionate about helping people connect with food in a fun and meaningful way.
Meet your Culinary Educator, Blake Herndon
Blake graduated from Le Cordon Bleu London in 2024 while working for a biodynamic market garden operated by Farmacy London. He learned the value of a home-cooked farm-fresh meal by shelling peas and shucking corn in North Florida with his grandparents, and has been recreating the comfort of their kitchen ever since. Blake’s mission is to root the Southern comfort food of his childhood in principles of nutrition, regenerative provenance, and well-being. He works closely with Everoak Farm’s Mike Garcia to plan the development of The Kitchen House’s culinary garden.
