Homegrown Workshops: Gardening Foundations

  • The Kitchen House 26 East King Street Orlando, FL, 32804 United States (map)

This 3-class series takes you from beginner gardener to seasoned grower. Purchase the series as a bundle, or as individual classes.

Homegrown Workshops is growing Orlando’s community of home gardeners. Whether you want to beautify your living space with ornamental flowers or do your grocery shopping in your own backyard, take part in this workshop to demystify the science and art of nurturing plants from seed to harvest.

Foundations of Gardening

In the first session of this three-part hands-on series, beginner gardeners will learn about site selection, sun mapping, soil types, seed starting, and more! Gardening students may choose to purchase single classes, or attend all three at a bundle rate.

Meet Your Garden Educator, Jenna Foor

Jenna Foor is a Florida native with 25 years experience working in the food service industry. She has a degree in culinary arts and is the owner/operator of a small urban farm in Winter Park, Florida that also sells baked goods made with organic, local ingredients. She believes that sustainable, regenerative agriculture is attainable in an urban setting and that anyone can grow their own food in one form or another with very low cost. Having two toddlers, Jenna realized how important it is for children to know where their food comes from and how essential it is for them to learn healthy eating habits from a young age.
